A Court of Thorns & Roses guide: Characters, spice + FAQs
A Court of Thorns & Roses synopsis/summary:
Feyre's survival rests upon her ability to hunt and kill – the forest where she lives is a cold, bleak place in the long winter months. So when she spots a deer in the forest being pursued by a wolf, she cannot resist fighting it for the flesh. But to do so, she must kill the predator and killing something so precious comes at a price ...
Dragged to a magical kingdom for the murder of a faerie, Feyre discovers that her captor, his face obscured by a jewelled mask, is hiding far more than his piercing green eyes would suggest. Feyre's presence at the court is closely guarded, and as she begins to learn why, her feelings for him turn from hostility to passion and the faerie lands become an even more dangerous place. Feyre must fight to break an ancient curse, or she will lose him forever.

A Court of Thorns & Roses review.
My rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5
4 stars.
Spice level: 🌶🌶
1.5/5, medium spice.
I’m so extremely very late to the Sarah J. Maas party, but I now can understand why she is such a gargantuan crowd-pleaser.
ACOTAR was not a perfect read, nor the best Beauty & the Beast retelling I have read by any means, but I was immensely entertained, and I rate books based on enjoyment.
There’s a lot of world-building to begin this series as expected. Once I reached about 50%, I became a lot more invested and I forsook sleeping throughout the night to finish it, oops. Despite a few couple of issues and niggles I had with the plot, prose and editing (once you see it, you can’t unsee it!), my enjoyment levels were sky high, especially the last 30% of the book.
