Where to find all spicy chapters in each & every ACOTAR book

Let’s be honest—if you’re here, you’re not looking for plot summaries or deep dives into character arcs. No, you’ve come for the spice, the steam, and the scandalously high temperatures that Sarah J. Maas serves up in the ACOTAR series.

Or maybe spice isn’t your thing, and you’d rather skip the raunchy scenes to enjoy SJM’s storytelling and emotional character journeys. That’s super valid. Everyone’s got their own reading thermostat.

If it’s the former, and you need the spice, and immediately, who can blame you? Between the tension-soaked banter, dramatic declarations, and… ahem, wing stroking that would make the Cauldron blush, these books are a masterclass in how to keep your Kindle fogged up, especially Silver Flames. Iykyk.

I’ve rounded up all spicy chapters across all five ACOTAR books into one list, from the OG A Court of Thorns and Roses to A Court of Silver Flames. Don’t forget to bookmark this page. Consider it your trusty guide. You're welcome.

A Court of Thorns & Roses.

When it comes to A Court of Thorns and Roses, the spice is more of a slow simmer than a full-on blaze—but don’t let that fool you. Between stolen glances and a certain fire night, the tension builds so deliciously you’ll be fanning yourself before Feyre even picks up a paintbrush.

But let’s be real—in comparison to the rest of the series, ACOTAR book one keeps it pretty mild in the spice department. Think starter spice: one truly spicy chapter, a fade-to-black moment, and a few steamy bits to whet your appetite.

Spice level: 🌶

1.5/5—steamy bits and some mild spice.

Steamy/spicy chapters:

  • Chapter 21

  • Chapter 27

  • Chapter 42

  • Chapter 46

A Court of Mist & Fury.

ACOMAF is where the spice levels start simmering. With tension crackling like an unstruck match, this book takes its time before delivering the heat. But when it does? Fireworks. This one is my favourite in the entire ACOTAR series and for good reason. Let’s break down the moments that’ll have your pulse racing.

Spice level: 🌶🌶

2.5/5—A masterclass in sexual tension, that delivers.

Spicy chapters:

  • Chapter 2

  • Chapter 42

  • Chapter 48

  • Chapter 55

A Court of Wings & Ruin.

Yes, ACOWAR brings the spice with a fair share of love scenes, flirty banter, and steamy moments between Feyre, Rhysand, and even a few side characters joining the fun.

But let’s be honest: compared to the sheer sexual tension masterpiece that is ACOMAF, this one feels way milder. Think mild salsa after a fiery hot sauce. Still enjoyable, but you won’t be reaching for a fan as often.

Spice level: 🌶🌶

2/5 – Mild to medium, with a hint of sweet.

Spicy chapters:

  • Chapter 14

  • Chapter 29

  • Chapter 39

  • Chapter 56

A Court of Frost & Starlight.

A Court of Frost and Starlight brings the spice, but let’s not get carried away—it’s more of a light sprinkle than a full-on inferno. However, the one proper spicy scene might be one of the spiciest in the series so far. Plus we’ve got some flirty, steamy moments between Rhysand and Feyre, and a cheeky nod to a past escapade.

Spice level: 🌶🌶

2/5 – Mild to medium.

Spicy chapters:

  • Chapter 2

  • Chapter 5

  • Chapter 22 (debatably, one of the most underrated spiciest chapters in the series)

A Court of Silver Flames.

If the previous books simmered, A Court of Silver Flames turns up the heat, pours kerosene everywhere and throws in a flamethrower. Nesta and Cassian, aka, Nessian, don’t just bring the spice, they deliver a giant smorgasboard of steam, tension, and scandalously explicit scenes. Yes this is the book with the headboard scene. Grab a bucket of ice, because ACOSF doesn’t hold back and is considered the spiciest book in the series (so far).

Spice level: 🌶🌶🌶🌶

4/5 – Medium to scorching hot.

Spicy chapters:

  • Chapter 15 (Nesta has a cheeky solo session thinking of Cassian)

  • Chapter 19

  • Chapter 22

  • Chapter 26

  • Chapter 37

  • Chapter 41 (“Put your hands on the headboard” scene)

  • Chapter 44 (A quick recollection)

  • Chapter 51

  • Chapter 58

Honourable mention to chapter 23 where Nesta fantasises about both Cassian and Azriel.
